Amy must confront who she became after the tragedy struck her family seven years ago. Sonya and TJ disagree on how to handle a sick Marine, and Amy and Jake make a life-changing discovery about an Alzheimer’s patient in the all-new “One Small Step” episode of Doc.

What I'll Remember
Amy got access to her emails at the end of Season 1, Episode 3. At the beginning of this episode, Amy says she’s spent the last “48 hours deep-diving into my electronic past.” She calls Gina over to her condo to talk about what she found. Gina tells Amy that in September 2018, Amy found out that Katie was reading her text messages. After that, Amy was much more careful about what she communicated in texts.
Amy shows Gina a video that she found in her email account. It’s of Amy and Michael getting into a fight at Katie’s 12th birthday. Amy snaps at Michael when he forgets the gift bags and says “if I’m not everywhere all the time.” She knows that she’s referring to more than just the gift bags, but she doesn’t know what. She asks Michael to explain more about what she meant and speculates that it has to do with Danny and the museum. Michael shuts down and harshly cuts Amy off.
TJ tells a patient he was a “combat medic, ranger, four years.”
Amy and Jake share a few cute moments as she pretends to be her “old self” to a patient with Alzheimer’s who remembers her as the badass Chief Dr Larsen. Jake clearly enjoys that version of Amy, and they are both amused.
Richard gets nervous because he sees Amy talking to Dr Franco and thinks it’s about Bill Dixon. Amy is actually asking Dr Franco if she did an autopsy on Danny. Dr Franco says she and Michael opted not to because of a pre-existing heart condition.
In flashbacks, we see the day Danny died. The day started with Amy, Michael, Katie, and Danny having breakfast. Michael and Amy clearly have a very loving and flirtatious relationship. Amy asks Michael if he can take her place on Danny’s field trip because of a patient she needs to be with. Michael agrees. Danny gets sick outside the museum, but Michael thinks it’s just car sickness and doesn’t check him out further. Then Danny collapses inside the museum. Michael performs CPR, but nothing helps Danny.
Gina tells Michael that he has to tell Amy what happened to Danny. Michael is not happy, but takes Gina’s advice. That night, he takes Amy to the Franklin Museum to walk through what happened on the day Danny died. Amy was supposed to have been on the field trip, but switched places with Michael due to a sick patient. Michael didn’t check Danny’s pulse when he got sick, so Amy blamed Michael for his death. Michael breaks down, and he and Amy hug.
